Eastern Tide: A Literary Magazine of the Brandeis Asian American Student Association

Eastern Tide began as a newsletter of the Brandeis Asian American Student Association (BAASA) in 1981, and then was transformed into a literary magazine in 1985. Published almost every semester, Eastern Tide provided detailed accounts of BAASA’s activities and student perspectives on Asian and Asian American issues. It also featured poems, short stories, recipes, news, interviews, artwork, and resources. The editors, staff, and contributors included both BAASA and non-BAASA members.

In 2021, BAASA re-launched its literary magazine under the title Connections. This new magazine is inspired by Eastern Tide and the first issue, with the theme ROOTS, can be found at https://issuu.com/connectionsbrandeis

The Archives has ten issues from the 1980s and 1990s, and they are shared on this page. If you or anyone you know has additional issues to share of this or any other student organization material, please be in contact with us at archives@brandeis.edu.
